7 BEST US CITIES TO RETIRE TO
Retirement is just around the corner, and you have decided to sell the homestead; pack up and move. But where is a good place to live for a retired person? And what will you do with your new-found freedom? Well, below is a list of cities, in no particular order, which are considered the best to retire to; plus some things to keep you busy in your new home town.
1. Chicago

Chicago is known as the “Windy City.” So what would entice you to move there? Well, for one thing, the people are friendly and enjoy having fun. With great sports franchises to cheer for such as the packed Cub’s baseball games at Wrigley Fields, and the pre-game and postgame activities overflowing for all the teams; the taverns and bars have an air of excitement. And if you enjoy walking, jogging, or biking; the Lake Michigan lakefront park system is open and accessible whenever the weather permits. Or if blues and jazz are your forte, Andy’s Jazz Club and Rosa’s Lounge will draw you in for some relaxation and unwinding.
There’s also affordable housing in the suburbs of Chicago such as Naperville and Oak Park as examples. Frank Lloyd, famed for his architectures design, lived in Oak Park for about 20 years leaving behind some of his beautiful buildings. Then there’s Woodstock, a village and suburb which has an interest in preserving its Victorian homes. Its town square is brimming with a great schedule of events too. Also, there are wonderful universities such as the University of Chicago and the Northwestern University in Evanston, if you’re thinking about taking some Adult Education classes. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
